We spent an exhausting afternoon looking at new beds today. We learned the following.
- All beds are more comfortable than our current one.
- A decent mattress costs $1000 to $14000.
- All mattresses are pretty much the same.

Our new mattress is now a couple of months old. We opted for a pillow top version and it turned out to be pretty good. It’s got comfy Daniel- and Sara-shaped dimples in it now but the bounce isolation is still much better than the old mattress. It turns out that you can expect a sizable discount from sticker price (we suggested and paid $1000 for a $1400 item and the salesman didn’t bat an eye).
