Okay, maybe the back pages.
I got mentioned twice in two newspapers today.
First, the Mercury News quoted me not spending any money on the Xbox 360 (why can’t I get one?).
And the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza had a photo of me in the Ski Elvis section. B-)

Well, there’ll no entries for the next few days either because it’s Ski Elvis time again! Sara fixed up my belt last night, and I’ve got some screenplay ideas (even if Tom doesn’t). Woo, can ya feel the snow yet?
…and we’re doing great. We finally got flights back to San Jose (a day late), and our luggage even arrived with us this time. More later, because we are furiously tidying up after my parents.
We are on our honeymoon and relaxing. So no blogging for a little while!
Merry Christmas everyone! Well, the wedding happened with nary a hitch, which just confirms that I married the right girl. This isn’t the place for me to write about it, so just ask me in person.
Now it’s Chrismas with the family. Tom found some USB missile launchers (see picture), so I attached a small camera to the front and am shooting my parents. They’re not too concerned, as their jigsaw puzzle is just out of range. I need to make the springs more powerful.
Today was errands day. Seeing as I’m coming down with something and I’ve only got two unmarried days left, I took a sick day and ran errands.
Hair. My hair keeps growing, and I haven’t worked out how to stop it. Hence I got the nuptial haircut.
Drinks. We needed some non-alcoholic drink for our guests. A certain large drink vendor didn’t have what we needed, but the lady in the Tux store knew where I could get some Martinelli’s.
Tuxes. I got them. They are heavy.
Dance. Sara and I had an unexpected chance to practice when Kim and Michael and Mike did a rehearsal at the Lyric warehouse. Yay!
Chocolate vessels. The line in Cost Plus was really quite impressive, but we got what we needed.
OSH. Needing 1/4″ galvanized pipe to make sure our arch stays up, I went to OSH.
Jack in the Box. Where would we be without fast food?
Chocolate. I helped Sara by tidying up her chocolate experiments a bit. B-)
Messing around. Somehow Sara ended up getting the most ridicul.us domain name.
As I was leaving for the motorcycle show this morning there seemed to be a fairly good power outage again. I wonder what the deal was this time.
The show wasn’t that interesting (I didn’t find a good helmet with a good vendor simultaneously), and Michael and I had more fun in the Tech Musem gift shop and cafe (very good). I picked up a few last minute items that I couldn’t resist.
Then, with Sara, it was off to our wedding-dance lesson/brush up; which was quite a lot of fun. Afterwards we did more wedding stuff—mostly pictures.
Hopefully one of the guys will post pictures of my bachelor party from yesterday. Rick was thoughtful enough to bring me a woman for the evening. See picture to right.
Update: Rick provided some pictures: see the comments.
Had a little bit of difficulty sleeping last night because
- I was in the new room, which still smelled slightly of paint.
- Pilgrim the cat isn’t allowed in the new room.
But the kicker was
- The bedspread CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) wouldn’t validate.
Oh dear.
It’s all been happening the last couple of days. I spent pretty much all Tuesday at work getting the memory management rethought for the demo on Wednesday. When I got back home, I put two coats of base on the texture (you can barely see the join!) and flopped into bed, just in time to wake up for demo day.
After the demo (successful!) I had to run out to meet Sara (she looked gorgeous) and the photographer for pre-wedding photos in the park. (“Put your hand there, up a bit, no not there!”) She was good at getting us to pose, and it’ll be interesting to see how they come out. Sara and I are notoriously bad at posing together; and getting us simultaneously ungoofy is a near impossibility (see Hawaii photo below).
After eating dunch (or linner) I raced back home, hoping to get some duvet/comforters washed for my visiting family. But I checked the flight schedule, and decided that mopping the floor would be a better use of time, because the direct flights sometimes arrive early. It didn’t, but I got a clean floor.
Dad has discovered that I don’t have any decent coffee.
